Jamie Hamilton could be heading for England with TEAMtalk claiming that Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both at the front of the queue for a talented Scotland youth star.

Back in August, a teenage centre-back was heading for an early bath just 20 minutes into the 2019/20 campaign.

A red card on his first appearance of the season was hardly the ideal way to kick things off. But it speaks volumes about Hamilton’s maturity and attitude that he has not let such a setback get him down.

The Scotland U19 international has ensured that such mistakes have been few and far between, with Hamilton rapidly becoming a first-team regular for the club that bears his name – Hamilton Academical.

“The good thing about Jamie is his temperament. You could play him anywhere and you wouldn’t know if he was nervous or not,” Accies boss Brian Rice said back in November.

“He doesn’t get fazed by it. If he makes a mistake it doesn’t seem to bother him.”

Considering that Premier League scouts are as interested with a player’s attitude as they are in his ability these days, it is no surprise that Hamilton has plenty of suitors from south of the border.

TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool and Wolves have emerged as his most likely destinations.

Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League leaders are planning to put the £1.5 million-rated defender in their U23 squad, though Hamilton should not be short of first-team opportunities under Jurgen Klopp.

A whole host of teenagers have been handed their senior debuts of late with the Reds fighting on multiple fronts, from Neco Williams to Curtis Jones, Rhian Brewster to Jake Cain.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is famed too for his faith in youth. So Hamilton really is spoiled for choice here.
