Leeds United looked to have pulled off a coup luring Madger Gomes to Elland Road but the Championship outfit have now sold him to Ligue 2 Sochaux.

A whole host of players have been linked with a move away from Leeds United this summer.
After a dreadful end to a season which promised so much, the likes of Felix Wiedwald, Andy Lonergan, Vurnon Anita and co are expected to be pushed out the door with Pierre-Michel Lasogga (below) having already returned to Hamburg at the end of his loan spell.

The 21-year-old midfielder only arrived last summer on a three-year deal from Liverpool, a signing that was initially well received by the Leeds supporters.
But Gomes, who was tipped to break into Leeds’ first-team plans before the season was out, only made two appearances for the senior side, both coming in EFL Cup thrashings against Port Vale and Newport County.

And the YEP is now reporting that the 21-year-old Spaniard has left to join French second division outfit Sochaux, who have paid a small fee for his services.
Gomes, who played for Villarreal’s B team and represented Spain twice at U18 level, struggled with injuries during his short time at Elland Road and Leeds will be hoping his premature departure does not come back to haunt them.
