The Newcastle United manager offered high words of praise for his skipper.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez addressed the media during his post-match press conference, after his side’s fabulous 3-2 win away at West Ham yesterday, and raved about the performance of Jamaal Lascelles, suggesting that he would like to have four or five players like the centre-back, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
Newcastle won their first game since October 21st, and what a vital win it was, lifting them above the Hammers into 15th position in the table, and Benitez’s players can now head into the hectic Christmas period with confidence, rather than trepidation.
Lascelles played a key role in his side’s 3-2 victory at the London Stadium yesterday, and his manager certainly didn’t hold back when offering words of praise for the24-year-old centre-half.

The Spaniard addressed the media during his post-match press conference, and chose to lavish praise upon Lascelles, suggesting that he wishes he had four or five exact replicas of his captain, as quoted by Football.London:

“You need four of five players like Lascelles. West Ham have big players, they started crossing lots and we had to deal with it. It is not easy, they have lots of big lads. We needed to be strong and today, we coped with it really well.”
Next up for Newcastle is a home game against league leaders Manchester City, and Benitez will need his skipper to be at his absolute best, if his side are to have any chance whatsoever of taking anything from the game.
