The Arsenal man has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United in January.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez will surely be looking to bolster his ranks during the January transfer window, with his Newcastle side currently deeply entrenched in a relegation battle.
The Toon currently sit in 18th position in the Premier League table, one point adrift of safety, and the Spaniard has made no secret of his desire to improve upon what he already has available to him.
One of his prime targets is Gunners ace Jack Wilshere, according to the Daily Mail, and what a signing that would be, if he manages to get a deal for the 25-year-old over the line next month.

The England international is a classy operator, and would offer the Magpies something different in the middle of the park, what with his ability to break the lines.
He would be the ideal central midfield partner for Jonjo Shelvey, and the pair could form one of the Premier League’s best engine room double acts.
Wilshere has just six months remaining on his current deal at the Emirates, and could be snapped up for a bargain fee next month, should Arsenal decide to sell him.

The cultured left-footer’s attributes would perfectly compliment Shelvey’s, and the duo would be a fearsome proposition for opponents up and down the length of the country.
There would obviously be a lot of hard work involved in convincing Wilshere to move to St James’ Park, however.
He is currently on £90,000 per week at Arsenal, and whether Newcastle could offer anywhere near that amount is debatable to say the least.
If Benitez does in fact manage to pull off the signing of the Gunners ace, though, it could turn out to be a really significant piece of business for the Toon.
