The Crystal Palace man could be the ideal addition to the Everton squad.

Sam Allardyce looks on from the stand during the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison Park on November 29, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Toffees boss Sam Allardyce will be desperate to bolster his ranks during the January transfer window, as he looks to build a squad capable of making a sustained push for the top seven in the second half of the campaign.

One particular area where the 63-year-old will want to strengthen is his forward department, with a lack of goals costing his side dearly so far this season.

According to the Daily Mail, Allardyce is contemplating making an offer for Eagles hitman Christian Benteke, who he managed during his spell in charge at Selhurst Park.

And the Belgian would be the ideal addition to the Everton squad, what with Allardye’s penchant for implementing a direct playing style.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Benteke possesses a powerful frame, and has the ability to bully defenders both in the air and on the ground.

The former Aston Villa and Liverpool front-man could act as the perfect focal point for the Blues’ attacking play, and he would surely flourish under the guidance of Allardyce at Goodison Park.

The Belgian international joined Palace from Liverpool in the summer of 2016, for a fee that could eventually rise to £32 million, according to BBC Sport, so the south London outfit would surely expect to receive a fee similar to what they paid for him, if they were to consider selling him in January.

In today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market though, that sort of fee would actually represent decent business for the Toffees, and if Allardyce manages to bring the 27-year-old to the club in January, it could turn out to be a significant piece of business for Everton.
