The Tottenham Hotspur star’s performances have not been good enough this season.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s bitterly disappointing 4-1 defeat at Manchester City yesterday, and responded to a question asking him if he is concerned by Dele Alli’s poor run of form, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
Tottenham now sit a distant 21 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League table, and their hopes of winning the title this season are now almost certainly over, even though there are still 20 games to be played.
Dele has been nowhere near his best this season, and has failed to live up to his sparkling form from last season.

He has contributed with just three goals and three assists in 17 league outings to far this term, a quite remarkable drop in productivity from last time round, when he recored 18 goals and seven assists in 37 Premier League appearances.
Pochettino addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s defeat yesterday, and responded when asked if he is concerned by the 21-year-old’s inconsistent form, as quoted by Football.London:
“Look, I am not going to talk about individuals, about names, today because I think it’s unfair. I think the most important is our collective performance wasn’t how we expect and I think we were poor.”
Next up for Spurs is a trip to Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday, and who would have predicted at the start of the season that if the Clarets win the game, they will be four points clear of Tottenham in the table.
