Tottenham Hotspur seem to be well and truly back on track.

Spurs boss Maurcio Pochettino addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s impressive 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at Wembley yesterday, and described Serge Aurier’s goal as a potential turning point for his team this season, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.

Tottenham have seemingly put their troublesome run of form behind them, racking up three consecutive wins in all competitions, and they now sit in fourth position in the Premier League table, also they remain a distant 18 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

The Argentine deserves great credit for the manner in which he has managed to galvanise his troops in recent weeks, following a run that saw his side take just two points from four Premier League games.

“Yes of course, yes. Help a lot and you know when the opponent is so close and so deep and trying to reduce the space, to play only to defend it is not easy. I think the team created a lot of chances and deserve to score before [Serge] Aurier scored, but that is football. They fight and they were so motivated to play here against us but I am so happy I am very pleased for the victory, for the effort and then the performance and the general result.”

Next up for Spurs is the daunting prospect of a trip to the Etihad to take on Pep Guardiola’s rampant Manchester City side, and nothing less than a win will do if they still harbour a genuine ambition of challenging for the title.
