Hull City’s Harry Maguire heads at goal
Tottenham Hotspur are the latest Premier League side to be linked with a move for Hull City defender Harry Maguire, after Everton and Southampton.
The Daily Star reports Mauricio Pochettino, the Tottenham head coach, is keen on the 23-year-old after injuries to Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld this season, while doubts are said to remain over the future of Kevin Wimmer.
Wimmer has barely featured in 2016-17, with Eric Dier, who spent much of the previous campaign impressing in central midfield, preferred to the Austrian at centre-back.
Meanwhile, Maguire, who progressed through the ranks at Sheffield United, following in the footsteps of Spurs and England right-back Kyle Walker, has impressed in a struggling Hull side, but recently entered the final 18 months of his contract.
Tottenham signed Kyle Walker (centre) and Kyle Naughton, now of Swansea City, from Harry Maguire’s first club Sheffield United
The Sun reported last month the Yorkshireman is set to snub the Tigers’ offer of a new deal, and a summer move could be on the cards regardless of what division Marco Silva’s team are in.
It is claimed Tottenham’s interest could spark a bidding war involving top-flight rivals Everton and Southampton, with a fee of £15 million potentially required.
Which would be Maguire’s best move – Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Southampton?
