Spurs star Harry Kane sat down for an exclusive interview with ESPN, and opened up on his initial impressions of his manager Mauricio Pochettino when he first met the Argentine back in 2014.

Tottenham have made huge strides since Pochettino took over at the club, and Kane himself has developed into one of the Premier League’s best strikers, in such a short space of time.
The 23-year-old sat down for an in-depth interview with ESPN, and explained how the Argentine has influenced his career in such a positive manner, whilst pointing out the emphasis he places on hard work:

“When I first met him, I knew he was a respectful guy, straight away I knew he was someone I could get on with but only if I was working hard, respecting him and being part of the team. A lot of the time he’s calm, but he’s very passionate. If he feels the problem isn’t the game but is about our attitude, he’ll just tell us we need to work harder or play harder. He’s emotional.”

The Lilywhites are now considered to be genuine title challengers, rather than top four hopefuls, and the vast majority of the credit for that has to go to their manager.
The 23-year-old England international deserves praise too, and has been a leading figure for Pochettino, scoring 60 goals since his manager’s arrival at White Hart Lane.

Next up for Spurs is a trip to Anfield tomorrow to take on Liverpool, ad they will be looking to close the gap on Chelsea to just six points, with Antonio Conte’s men not playing until Sunday.
