Leeds United face Cardiff City on Saturday in the Championship, and HITC pundits give their predictions on the likely outcome.

Dan Coombs

Leeds United 2-1 Cardiff City

Leeds should be too strong for Cardiff, but it won’t be simple. Neil Warnock’s side suffered defeats to promotion chasers Brighton and Reading last month each by a single goal, and it could take a late Leeds strike to see them off this weekend.

Leeds United 1-0 Cardiff City

Cardiff are typically resilient under former Whites boss Neil Warnock but, barring last week’s loss at Huddersfield, Leeds have found a way to win in even the most edgy encounters. Expect Chris Wood to make the difference once again.

Leeds United 1-1 Cardiff City

Cardiff have routinely beaten the teams around them and lost to those towards the top of the league in recent weeks, but I can see Neil Warnock’s men earning a draw at Elland Road. Leeds will be looking to get back on track following defeat at Huddersfield, but Warnock won’t make it easy for them. A 1-1 draw or a 2-1 Leeds win the most likely outcomes.

Vincent Ralph

Leeds United 2-0 Cardiff City

Leeds will not be happy to have let a point slip against Huddersfield last time out and they should win relatively comfortable against the Bluebirds. With the January signings expected to start, there could be a lot of attacking intent from Garry Monk’s team.

Leeds United 2-0 Cardiff City

Cardiff have pulled away from worrying about relegation under Neil Warnock, but they will struggle to stop a Leeds team still smarting from their late defeat to Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield. I expect a strong performance from Garry Monk’s boys, who will be eager to get back on the winning trail.

Leeds United 1-0 Cardiff City

Leeds haven’t lost back-to-back games since September and victories tend follow those odd defeats. Cardiff manager Neil Warnock will strive to cause an upset at Elland Road, but I can only see this going one way.
