Leeds United brought in two players on deadline day, but will they regret not strengthening in goal?
After a tremendous start to the season under new boss, Garry Monk, Leeds United are looking like a good bet for promotion this season, as the club sits currently 4th in the table. Monk, who has transformed the club’s fortunes since taking charge, has managed to get the best out of players such as Chris Wood, Kemar Roofe and Liam Bridcutt, and recruited well in the summer.
But the former Swansea City boss still felt the need to improve the side this month. On the final day of the window, Monk brought in Swans winger Modou Barrow and Villarreal wide man Alfonso Pedraza, clearly identifying the wings as areas that needed to be improved.

However, some Leeds fans will be wondering why the club didn’t look to bring in a new goalkeeper in the window, after the indifferent form of former England keeper, Rob Green.
Green, who joined from Queens Park Rangers in the summer, has done okay since joining the Whites. However, the keeper has at times looked nervy, and has made a number of mistakes which have left some Leeds fans scratching their heads.
Should Leeds have looked to strengthen this position? Who could they have looked to bring in.

The great thing about goalkeepers is that they operate with completely different age limits compared to outfield players. Many keepers hit their prime in their early/mid thirties, and this can been seen at some of Leeds’ Championship rivals.
Derby County keeper Scott Carson has been sensational this season; arguably one of the Rams’ players of the season so far. Reading’s Ali Al-Habsi, who had a poor time at his former club Wigan, has also found some top form again, after playing a huge part in his club’s march for promotion.
With many options out there, could Leeds United look again for a new goalkeeper in the summer? Should this be their priority for the next transfer window? Let us know in the comments!
