“I think there’s a very slow changing of the guard in North London. Tottenham are an actual team as opposed to a collection of individuals,” HITC Sport’s James suggested.
“You’ve got players who play for each other, they buy into Pochettino’s philosophy. You’ve got a group of young players that are only getting better and trust each other and with a couple of clever additions, they’re going to kick on.”
While Tottenham fans will surely agree, and they are backed up by the current table – Spurs sit second while Arsenal are fourth – Gunners supporters will point to the fact that you have to go back to the 1994/95 season to find a table where Tottenham finished higher, even though last term, Mauricio Pochettino’s men were in the driving seat right until the final stages.
