Rangers, Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers could all target the Spaniard in the summer.
After making his long-awaited comeback from a serious ankle ligament injury, Brentford’s attacking midfielder Jota has made a real impact this season.
The Spanish forward, who can play either centrally as a number 10 or as a wide player, was vital to Mark Warburton’s success at Brentford during the 2014/15 Championship season, and he is now hoping to become just as important to Dean Smith this time round.
However, with the Spaniard out of contract in the summer, Jota’s signature could attract a number of pursuers in the coming months. So which clubs might take a look at Jota? And who might he be best suited to?

One possible destination for Jota could well be Ibrox, as the Spanish midfielder may look to link up with his former manager Warburton at Rangers. Signing him from Spanish side Eibar in 2014, Jota owes a lot of his success in England to Warburton, and may well be interested in helping out his old boss at his new club in Glasgow.
According to reports in the Daily Record, Warburton was keen to bring the Spaniard to Ibrox last month, but saw a loan move fall through. With the Scottish giants still working on a tight budget, the signing of Jota in the summer, which would be on a free, may work perfectly.
Warburton will also be looking to add players who can add more goals and creativity to his side this summer, which Jota can certainly do. Able to fit in in either of his system, a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, Jota might be just the man Rangers fans will want to see at Ibrox next season.

Leeds United may also look to the midfielder, whether they are promoted to the Premier League or not. Garry Monk will likely be already drawing up a list of potential summer targets, and it’s likely that, at the top of that list, will be players who are both available in the summer and low in cost.
One major reason why Leeds United could turn to the Brentford forward, is becayse Jota plays a similar role to Pablo Hernandez. Although Hernandez does not look to be going anywhere, the midfielder is not getting any younger, and Jota would provide good competition for him next season.
Jota would also fit the number 10 role favoured by Monk, in a 4-2-3-1 system which has worked so well for his side this season.
However, his ability to also fill in out wide, or even playing off the striker in a 4-4-2, makes him a versatile asset for any club, and might be just the kind of signing Leeds will want to pip their rivals to.

Finally, Jota might be just the type of player Wolves need in the summer, as the club looks to make a push for promotion to the Premier League this season.
Wolves boss Paul Lambert, who took over from Walter Zenga last year, has done an excellent job so far of steadily rebuilding the side, and will likely be wanting to add to his squad in the summer
After adding a flurry of wide players to their squad in January, such as Helder Costa on a permanent deal and Blackburn Rovers’ Ben Marshall, Wolves could also do with bringing in a new number 10 to play behind the the striker; a role Jota would fit perfectly.
Again, Jota’s versatility would also make him a very valuable asset to Wolves. Lambert has experimented with systems over the last few months, and the Spaniard’s ability to fill in a number of roles could make him a top target.
