The full-back and his Spurs colleagues have more often than not been forced to surrender set-piece duties to Christian Eriksen since the Dane’s 2013 arrival at White Hart Lane.

But with Eriksen’s efforts yet to pay off this season, it’s perhaps time to let someone else have a go.

And Walker is priming himself to take over, it seems, tweeting: “Perfecting some free kicks today, but who’s got better technique? Retweet for me, like for soccer-cat.”
Though Walker is yet to find the net at all this season, letting him loose on dead balls would perhaps not be the worst idea – as those with memories of Tottenham’s 2013 encounter against Manchester United will attest.

The England international is, however, unlikely to go unchallenged should Eriksen be forced aside, with a certain Harry Kane known to have struck one or two in his time.
