The former Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal defender has given his thoughts on the Premier League title race.
William Gallas has told Talksport his former club Chelsea will take some beating at the top of the Premier League.
The Blues hold a nine-point lead over second-place Tottenham Hotspur, who along with Arsenal, are another of Gallas’s previous employers.
And though the Frenchman was full of praise for Spurs, he struggles to see Mauricio Pochettino’s men overcoming the west London side at the top. Although they could do something they haven’t for 22 years – finish above the Gunners.

“Oof,” Gallas replied when asked if Tottenham can bring home their first league title since 1961. “For this season it will be very, very difficult to win the Premier League because, for me, I think Chelsea will win it because they are very strong.
“Tottenham can do a good season, you know, maybe finish second. But they have to understand and don’t do the same mistake they did from last season (when they failed to win any of their final four fixtures to finish in third).

“Now they have more experience, a good manager, they have good players. What they have to do now is go on the pitch and win every game to finish second. If they do that I think this will be the perfect season.”
Gallas spent 12 years of his career in English football, arriving at Claudio Ranieri’s Chelsea in 2001 and departing Tim Sherwood’s Spurs in 2013, with a four-year stint at Arsenal in between.

Arsene Wenger’s men trail the pair by 12 and three points respectively, having been comfortably beaten by at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
A second-place finish would represent Tottenham’s best league campaign since 1962-63 – two years after they were crowned champions of England.
