“The biggest irritation was the transfer window, which shut without Rafa Benitez signing any of the players he was hoping for in January. Rafa’s obviously a bit frustrated, and I can understand that. Now, though, it’s all about cracking on with his plans for next season.”

Despite Newcastle’s current standing in England’s second tier, they are still considered to be a massive club, with immense pulling power, and if they do manage to secure promotion to the Premier League, their potential to bring the best players in the world to St James’ Park will increase further still.
