Poll: Which Championship club is most likely to miss out on a play-off place?

Leeds United, Aston Villa, Derby County, Huddersfield Town, Norwich City, Reading and Sheffield Wednesday all feature.

With the end of the season drawing closer and closer, the race to reach the heights of the Premier League is hotting up. After yet another weekend of upsets and shock results, up to seven teams are battling to either stay in the play-off places, or get into them. But who will make it? And, more importantly, who is the most likely to miss out? Before you get a chance to vote, here’s a look at the contenders…

Leeds United

Since Garry Monk’s arrival at Elland Road, Leeds United have enjoyed an incredible resurgence in form, storming into fifth place in the Championship. Sitting on 54 points, Leeds United are eight points away from dropping out of the play-offs, but the Championship often offers some big shocks at this time of year.

Aston Villa

Longshots for making the playoffs, new Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce hasn’t enjoyed the best of times since taking over from Italian manager, Roberto Di Matteo. The Villans are currently stuck in 14th place, and despite spending millions in both the summer and January, and being armed with arguably the best front two in the division, could Villa be set for another season in the Championship?

Derby County

Derby County have been in excellent form since the return of Steve McClaren, and currently sit just three points away from the play-off spots. However, after such a poor start to the season under Nigel Pearson, might Derby County’s beginning’s scupper their end?

The surprise package this season, many are still shocked to see Huddersfield Town sitting fourth in the table, nine points from dropping out of the play-offs. But, as is the nature of the Championship, a few shocks are surely in store for the table, and could Huddersfield Town be the casualty of this unpredictable league?

So close to promotion last season, Sheffield Wednesday have recruited well in January, bringing in strikers Jordan Rhodes and Sam Winnall. However, with just three points between them and chasers Norwich City and Derby County, is Sheffield Wednesday’s place in the play-offs the most at risk?
