The Celtic defender was linked with a move away from the club in January.
During an exclusive interview with Danish newspaper BT, Hoops centre-back Erik Sviatchenko seemed to allay fears that he will leave the club during the next transfer window, by admitting that he is very happy at Celtic Park.
Dembele shares whether he would consider leaving Celtic
The 25-year-old Dane was brought into the club in January 2016, for the nominal fee of just £1.5 million, and has gone on to establish himself as a vital member of the Celtic side, making 49 appearances in the process.
Sviatchenko’s form has been so impressive this season, that he was linked with Premier League champions Leicester City and Southampton throughout the course of the January transfer window (the Scottish Sun).

But the former FC Midtjylland defender highlighted his current happiness at playing under Brendan Rodgers, when speaking to BT during a wide-ranging interview:
“It’s part of being a footballer, that when you make it good, so you attract interest. It can be said sometimes it becomes more than interest. But it takes two to tango. I have been honoured and flattered that I’ve been noted in major leagues. It confirms to me that I am on a good team and that I have done well. But I’m happy where I am, so I’m in no hurry.”

Rodgers’ men have been totally dominant domestically this season, and currently hold a 27 point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, and Sviatchenko has been a key driving force behind their success.
And if Celtic are to continue to build for the future, they must ensure they keep hold of players like the Dane.
