Paul Merson has admitted that he believes Tottenham Hotspur will finish above Arsenal this season, with Arsene Wenger’s side finishing outside the top four.
Paul Merson has told Sky Sports that he believes Tottenham Hotspur will finish ahead of Arsenal this season.
Tottenham have not finished above Arsenal since the 1994/95 campaign, but they currently sit ahead of their North London rivals.
Spurs fans will be interested in claim Pochettino has made about their new ground
And Merson believes this will be the year when Tottenham finally manage to come out on top against Arsene Wenger’s men.

“I’m putting Tottenham second,” he said. “I think they’ve got a very, very good 11 but I worry if Harry Kane got injured for a long period that neither Vincent Janssen or Heung-Min Son would do a job up front. In third place I’m going Man City, who I think have got too much in attack to miss out.
Pochettino laughed, but should Spurs now seriously consider shock transfer move?
“I think Liverpool and Arsenal will end up with bad seasons, but it can all change.”
Merson actually believes that Arsenal will miss out on making it into the top four.

The Gunners’ recent defeats against Watford and Chelsea appear to have destroyed optimism around the Emirates Stadium.
Spurs, meanwhile, have been in very good form of late – and they are unbeaten in 12 matches across all competitions.
Tottenham currently are Chelsea’s nearest rivals in the race for the Premier League title, and they have built up a three point lead over Arsenal.
The Gunners are next in action this weekend with a match against Hull City, while Spurs face Liverpool.
