Leeds striker Frank Mulhern is on trial at Huddersfield.
Leeds United striker Frank Mulhern’s future at the club appears to be in doubt after he was allowed to go on trial at rivals Huddersfield Town.
Huddersfield confirmed on their website yesterday that Mulhern was one of their trialists for their under-23 win over Crewe.
Mulhern had two chances, with one cleared off the line by a defender and put another shot wide from inside the box.
Huddersfield Town fans
Mulhern had been highly rated at Leeds after impressive performances for the under-23s last season.
The Ireland youth international had spent a short loan at non-league Southport, with the spell disappointing, making only one appearance.

It would seem now that Leeds have signalled to him that he is free to leave at the end of the season or at least explore his options, with his contract at the club set to expire in June, although it is too early for any decision to be formally announced.
Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn
Mulhern was once praised by former Whites boss Neil Redfearn, who told Radio Yorkshire: “He has got a massive future.
“He is a young boy in a man’s body, and has got a good touch. Given the right set of circumstances he could flourish.”
Mulhern may yet get those circumstances at Huddersfield, and he will be kicking himself after failing to net in his audition on Monday afternoon.
