Sunderland are reportedly keen on Southampton striker Sam Gallagher.
According to The Sun, Sunderland are plotting a summer move to land Southampton striker Sam Gallagher at the end of the season.
The Black Cats enjoyed a superb 4-0 away win over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, giving David Moyes’ men renewed hope of Premier League survival.

Still, Sunderland sit bottom of the table, and whilst they lie just two points adrift of safety, fans remain frustrated with the club’s January transfer activity, having only landed Joleon Lescott, Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson; viewed as a bunch of cast-offs.

Sunderland may already be preparing for the summer transfer window, and should really have one list of targets for if they stay in the Premier League, and one for if they are relegated to the Championship.

Now, The Sun report that Sunderland have been scouting Southampton striker Sam Gallagher, who is currently on loan at Championship club Blackburn Rovers, with a view to a summer move.
Gallagher, 21, joined Southampton from Plymouth Argyle in 2012, but has played just 20 first-team games for the Saints, scoring only two goals.
Gallagher is currently on loan at Blackburn, and his winning goal against Queens Park Rangers means he has now hit 11 goals in 32 games, with the 6ft 4in striker impressing in the Championship.

The England Under-20 international has less than 18 months left on his contract with Southampton, and that could open the door for Sunderland to make a move, landing a promising young striker who can either make an instant impact in the Championship or develop into a Premier League centre forward.
