Arsenal failed to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. The Gunners went down 3-1 to London rivals Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge.
Arsene Wenger’s side headed into the match on the back of a 2-1 loss at the hands of Watford at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal were not expected to pick up all three points at Stamford Bridge, but one would have expected them to at least give the home team a run for their money.
Chelsea, though, ran over Arsenal and picked up a 3-1 victory with relative ease. Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas scored the goals for the Blues, with Olivier Giroud bagging a consolation for the visitors in injury time.
Alexis Sanchez featured for Arsenal in the London derby. The Chile international forward, who can also operate as a winger, started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
“Actually feel sorry for sanchez man the guy deserve better than this mediocre,” Frimpong wrote on Twitter.
