Leeds United boss Garry Monk is not happy with his side’s crammed fixture list.

Whites boss Garry Monk vented his frustration at his side’s hectic fixture list, and claimed that his side seem to have been dealt the trickier hand, when it comes to rest time between games, when speaking to LUTV during an exclusive interview.

Leeds face a trip to Cambridge in the FA Cup tomorrow night, before having to play a huge Championship match against promotion rivals Derby County on Friday night, allowing just four days recuperation time, whilst the Rams will be afforded the luxury of six days rest between their games.

And with so much emphasis being placed on gaining promotion to the Premier League nowadays, Monk will likely opt for a weakened team at Cambridge, in what could prove to be another kick in the teeth for the FA Cup.

Monk discussed the scheduling of fixtures, during an interview with LUTV, and highlighted the need for him to utilise his squad during these hectic periods:

“We want to win, but it is also about using the squad correctly. You have to look at the bigger fixture and I think it is ridiculous that we have to play on Monday and Friday, it seems to be us more than others affected.”

Following tomorrow their games against Cambridge and Derby, Leeds have slightly more breathing space, with just two games scheduled for the next 15 days.

But it is highly likely that everyone in the Whites’ squad will be expected to contribute over the next five-day period.
