Hogan joined Villa in a deal worth a reported £9 million on transfer deadline day.
Transfer deadline day Aston Villa signing Scott Hogan has told the club’s official website that he can be the perfect fit at “one of the very biggest clubs in the land”.
Hogan joined Villa in a deal worth a reported £9 million on Tuesday’s transfer deadline day.
The 24-year-old, who has spent most of his career to date in non-league football, has scored 14 goals in 25 Championship games for the Bees so far this season.
He and Villa fans will now be hoping that he can translate that scoring form to his new career at Villa Park, as club owner Tony Xia and manager Steve Bruce looked to boost their team’s firepower.

Hogan is far from a household name, but he insists that he can become synonymous with success at Villa Park because he fits the bill.
Hogan told avfc.co.uk: “I am over the moon to be here. It’s a massive, massive club and one I have grown up watching in the Premier League. The transfer moved quickly and I have no problems with that because I am now at the biggest club I have ever played for – and one of the very biggest clubs in the land. I can’t wait to get started.
Ross McCormack admits he was desperate for Nottingham Forest loan move
“It was relaxing for me. I knew where I was heading early in the day. I can imagine it being quite stressful for other players – but it wasn’t for me. I am delighted to be here and, I must admit, Aston Villa is the only club in the Championship I would have left Brentford for. This is not a Championship club.

“We are there in the Championship, you can’t hide that. But it’s the job of all the boys in the changing room – including myself – to get back up there. We all want to get there. “I just feel Scott Hogan and Aston Villa is the perfect match.”
Steve Bruce says Conor Hourihane’s set-piece ability can be a difference-maker for Villa
Hogan is saying all the right things, but talking the talk is far easier than walking the walk, as previous Championship stars such as Ross McCormack and Aaron Tshibola have found out since their summer moves.
There are high hopes surrounding Hogan, however, and if he can succeed where MCcormack failed and strike up an understanding and partnership with top scorer Jonathan Kodjia, then he could yet become a favourite in B6.
