Henry Onyekuru has taken Belgium by storm this season and he could be tearing up the Scottish Premiership with Celtic this time next year.
If Henry Onyekuru is attempting to be subtle about his desire to secure a move away from Belgian minnows Eupen, he is probably not going the right way about it. According to the Daily Record, the teenage Nigerian went AWOL in an attempt to force through a move amid links with Celtic.
The publication adds that Onyekuru, potentially channelling compatriot and deadline day legend Peter Odemwingie (below), has now been forced to return to Eupen with his tail between his legs.

However, thanks to an impressive tally of 13 goals already this season, the 19-year-old will not be short of suitors when the transfer window creaks open again at the end of the season.
The Sun reports that Bundesliga surprise packages Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig have expressed an interest, while Onyekuru’s intermediary claimed that Liverpool and Fenerbahce have also made an approach.
Report: Celtic missed out on shock target due to concerns over his wages
To top it off, The Sun add that Eupen are owned by the same organisation controlling Paris Saint-Germain while, in the recent past, he admitted that he dreams of one day pulling on the colours of his boyhood club, Arsenal. Well, he does have ‘Henry’ on the back of his shirt.

However, the Daily Record confirms that, such is his determination to make the next step with a move to Celtic, Onyekuru is willing to turn down Champions League regulars CSKA Moscow, although Brendan Rodgers’ side will be forced to up their £1 million bid.
£1m man could have succeeded where one-time prodigy failed at Celtic
Parkhead certainly appears a sensible destination. Like fellow starlet Moussa Dembele, Onyekuru would surely be handed first-team opportunities, the odd Champions League run out and the prospect of catching the eye of a big fish south of the border.
It certainly beats stagnating in the reserves.
