Everton reportedly considered a January move for West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton had internally discussed a shock January move for West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian – but the form of Joel Robles led Ronald Koeman to change his mind about pursuing a new shot stopper.

The Toffees made three January signings in total, as midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and attacker Ademola Lookman arrived from Manchester United and Charlton Athletic to boost Koeman’s first team, whilst Wolfsburg winger Anton Donkor joined on loan to play in the under-23 side.

Some fans felt that Everton needed other signings, but Koeman appears to be happy with his squad now – even if he did consider a move to boost his goalkeeping options.

The Spaniard, 30, joined West Ham from Real Betis back in 2013, and has been the club’s first-choice goalkeeper for the last couple of seasons, but he has lost his place to Darren Randolph his term.

Adrian’s last league appearance came back on the 5th of November, with some questions arising over his future, as his contract expires at the end of the season – though West Ham can activate a two-year option on that.

It’s stated that Everton subsequently looked into a deal for Adrian, but with Joel Robles impressing in recent games, Koeman changed his mind about his need for a goalkeeper, and will instead wait until the summer to sign a new shot-stopper.
