West Ham United completed the signing of Jose Fonte during the January transfer window.
Hammers new boy Jose Fonte shared his fond memories of playing alongside teammate Michail Antonio for Southampton, all the way back in 2010, when the winger was on loan with the south coast club, during an exclusive interview with West Ham’s official club website.

It will come as a surprise to many that the Portuguese international had already lined up alongside Antonio before he completed his switch to the Olympic Stadium.
The 26-year-old winger spent 6 months on loan at St Mary’s during the 2009/10 season, scoring seven goals in 39 appearances during his impressive spell with the club.

And Fonte, who completed his £8 million move to East London towards the end of last month, recalled one particular game where he remembers playing alongside Antonio, and highlighted how even then he knew the Hammers man was heading for the highest level, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“Michail was only young at the time. I was young at the time as well! He had raw pace, talent, explosiveness and we could see the potential in him. He was fantastic in the Final and scored a goal. It was a great day at Wembley.”
