Leeds United have signed wingers Alfonso Pedraza and Modou Barrow.

Leeds United swooped to land two wingers on deadline day, as Alfonso Pedraza and Modou Barrow arrived from Villarreal and Swansea City respectively.

The Whites had endured a quiet January transfer window, but with the deadline closing in, Leeds managed to bring in not one, but two new signings.

Leeds’ first deadline day signing was Spaniard Pedraza, who arrives on loan from Villarreal with an option for a permanent deal should Leeds win promotion to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has come up through the ranks with Villarreal having joined at the age of 15, and spent the first half of the season on loan with Spanish second division side Lugo before being snapped up by Leeds.

A pacey, skilful wide man with a great left foot, Pedraza is an exciting prospect who offers Garry Monk another attacking option as Leeds chase a play-off place.

One winger seemingly wasn’t enough for Leeds though, as just hours after confirming the arrival of Pedraza, the Whites announced a shock coup as Swansea City wide man Modou Barrow arrived on loan.

The Gambian has featured prominently for Swansea this season, notching two assists in 18 appearances, but with the Swans landing Luciano Narsingh and Jordan Ayew, he’s been allowed to head to Elland Road and reunite with his former Swansea boss Monk.

Barrow’s blistering pace makes him an exciting signing for Leeds, and could provide them with the added quality needed to get Leeds over the line and back into the Premier League.

After completing their moves, Barrow and Pedraza received a message on Twitter from Leeds co-owner Andrea Radrizzani, who took time out of his day to welcome both of the new arrivals to Elland Road.
