West Ham United sold Dimitri Payet to Marseille yesterday.
Dimitri Payet finally completed his protracted move to Marseille yesterday, and during a press conference at his unveiling, he took the opportunity to take a parting shot at his former employers, insisting that he does not have to justify the behaviour that led to his acrimonious exit from East London, as quoted by the Independent.

The 29-year-old Frenchman took the Premier League by storm last season, registering nine goals and 12 assists in 30 Premier League outings for the Hammers, and proved to be an immediate hit with the fans.

Any chance he had of achieving legendary stats with West Ham ended abruptly two weeks ago, however, when Slaven Bilic publicly shared how Payet had refused to play for the club, and demanded an exit.
And during his press-conference at his unveiling at Marseille today, the Frenchman shared his self-entitled view of the situation he found himself in during the final stages of his Hammers career, as quoted by the Independent:
Dimitri Payet during his time with West Ham
“I was not feeling good in the club anymore. I don’t need to justify my behaviour at all. Slaven Bilic and I had conversations face to face. I will speak about this, but not now. It’s not the right moment. I prefer to savour this moment at a great club and return to that at a later date.”

Payet’s latest comments will be sure to rile West Ham fans even further.
The Frenchman is considered as somewhat of a hate figure in East London, after his actions were perceived to be one of the most blatant shows of disrespect and lack of loyalty over recent times.
