McGugan has not travelled on the Owls’ pre-season tour of Portugal.

Sheffield Wednesday will allow Lewis McGugan to find another club, head coach Carlos Carvalhal has admitted to the Star.
McGugan was one of the Portuguese’s first signings at Hillsborough, having impressed during a loan spell the previous campaign.
However, the former England Under-21 midfielder found games hard to come by last term, featuring 17 times in all competitions.

Despite an impressive return of six goals, he was unable to force his way in as the Owls secured a sixth-placed finish in the Championship – ultimately losing the play-off final to Hull City.
And McGugan was not included in Carvalhal’s squad which travelled to the Algarve last week, fuelling speculation over his future at the club.
“Lewis is a very good player and can play in a lot of teams in the Championship but he has difficulties playing our game,” Carvalhal told the Star.
Carvalhal says McGugan needs to play
“Sometimes these kind of things happen in football. It’s not a question of attitude or the value of the player.
“He doesn’t have the requirements that we want for our team so it’s better for all of us that he must play and be happy. For players to be happy, they must play. It’s better that Lewis finds a club where he can be happy. I’m absolutely sure he will find another club because he’s a good player.”
Wednesday are said to be seeking signings in McGugan’s position this summer, having seen Alex Lopez return to Celta Vigo following a loan spell.
A report in the Daily Mail last week claimed the Owls were weighing up a £2 million bid for Wigan Athletic star Max Power.
McGugan, who previously played for Nottingham Forest and Watford, has scored an impressive 48 goals in 231 Championship appearances.
