Jack Wilshere’s search for a new club has come to an end as the former Arsenal midfielder was announced as a new player for Danish side Aarhus.
The Superliga club confirmed on their official website that the 30-year-old has signed a short-term deal until the end of the season, with Aarhus having an option to extend Wilshere’s contract next season.
The transfer was a surprise for many given at the speed everything was unravelled. Wilshere has spent the majority of this season training with Arsenal gaining fitness as well as seeking for a new club.
Despite rumours to clubs in Turkey, Italy and the United States, it is Denmark where Wilshere will play his football for the remainder of the season, with Aarhus comfortably sitting in midtable.
Denmark have seen a surge of well-known players in the twilight of their careers make the move to the Scandinavian nation, with Wilshere joining the likes of Vagner Love and Max Meyer this winter.
Indeed, many Arsenal fans were convinced that Wilshere would sign a deal with the Gunners given the lack of depth in the midfield position, however, no such contract was ever proposed for the now-Aarhus midfielder.
