
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal wanted to sign Emerson Royal, but Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur have outbid them, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Mundo Deportivo have reported that Emerson is joining Tottenham from Barcelona.
Spurs’ bid for the 22-year-old Brazil international right-back has been accepted.
Goal have reported that Tottenham will pay Barcelona an initial transfer fee of £21 million for the youngster.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal also wanted to sign the youngster.
The Gunners actually made a bid for Emerson, but Tottenham’s offer was ‘superior’, according to the report.

Arsenal and Tottenham are bitter North London rivals, and missing out on a player to Spurs will hurt the Gunners.
The Gunners clearly want a right-back, and so do Tottenham. After all, why else would they bid for Emerson?
