Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have reportedly received a boost in their quest to sign Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes.
Arsenal interest
Le10Sport reported in May interest from Arsenal in Rennes midfielder Camavinga.
The reported in the French news outlet claimed that Rennes value the midfielder at €50 million (£42.90m).
The teenager is claimed to be one of the main priorities of Arsenal.
Twist
Then last month, Le10Sport claimed that Rennes have offered the 18-year-old a new contract.
The report said that the Ligue 1 club want to keep hold of the midfielder, who is out of contract next summer.
Now, there has been a twist.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Rennes are now open to selling Camavinga.
The French club are reportedly open to talks over a €30 million deal (£25.74m).
Manchester United are interested, and so are Paris Saint-Germain, according to Romano.
Encouraging for Arsenal
Rennes dropping their asking price by €20 million (£17.16m) is certainly encouraging for Arsenal.
The club now willing to sell the teenager is also good for the Gunners.

It suggests that Rennes have realised that Camavinga is not going to sign the new contract they have offered to him.
It now remains to be seen if Arsenal start talks with Rennes over Camavinga, who has been compared to Paul Pogba by the United midfielder himself.
