Arsenal Technical Director Edu has personally been impressed by Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, according to 90min.
90min are reporting this evening that Arsenal are planning to make a formal approach for Scamacca.
Arsenal Technical Director Edu has been ‘really impressed’ by the Italy international striker, with the North London club’s scouts ‘glowing in their praise’ of the youngster, according to the report.
90min have added Sassuolo are ready to sell Scamacca in the summer transfer window and want £35 million for him.
Would Gianluca Scamacca be a good signing for Arsenal?
In our view, Gianluca Scamacca would be a good signing for Arsenal, although the Gunners should be wary of paying £35 million for the Sassuolo striker.
The 23-year-old has done well and improved over the past two or so years and has proved that he is a Serie A-level striker.

The Italy international scored 16 goals in 25 Serie A starts this past season.
Scamacca scored eight goals and gave two assists in 13 league starts during his loan spell at Genoa in 2020-21.
However, £35 million is a lot of money to pay for a striker who is not ‘elite’ yet.
Arsenal need a proven striker who has been delivering the goods for a few seasons, and who can hit the ground running and bang in the goals for fun.
Remember, the Gunners will be aiming to finish in the Premier League top four as well as make an impact in the Europa League next season.
