Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have made a bid of €40 million (£34.21m) for Newcastle United and West Ham United target and Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, according to Alfredo Pedulla.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on his website that Arsenal have bid €40 million (£34.21m) for the 23-year-old.
The Italy international striker has turned down the chance to move to Arsenal.
Why?
Well, according to the report, Scamacca wants to move to former Italian champions Inter Milan only.
AC Milan and Napoli are also keen on the striker, according to Alfredo Pedulla.
The Sun reported last month that Eddie Howe’s Newcastle and David Moyes’s West Ham United are keen on Scamacca, who scored 16 goals in Serie A this past season.

Gianluca Scamacca blow for Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham
In our view, Gianluca Scamacca wanting to join only Inter Milan is a blow for Arsenal, Newcastle United and West Ham United.
The Italian striker seems determined to move to Inter, and since he has already rejected the chance to move to Arsenal, it is very likely that he would say no to Newcastle and West Ham as well if they made bids.
After all, Arsenal are a big club and a global brand who will play in the Europa League and will challenge for the Premier League top four next season, and rejecting them underlines Scamacca’s mindset.
Newcastle are just starting their grand project, while West Ham could only feature in the Conference League next season.
