Conor Coady has spoken highly about what Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is like in England training and how he is ‘driving’ other people on, as the Everton defender told the Lion’s Den.

Out in the heat of Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, England are preparing for their showdown with Wales and Coady shared that Henderson ‘leads by example’ when out on the training field.

Both Henderson and Coady will be seen as the experienced pair of the camp and the ones the younger players in the group look up to – or probably call then ‘the dads of the group’.

According to Coady, that has been the case with a certain Jude Bellingham, who Henderson has been looking after at their training camp in Doha ‘like there is no tomorrow’.

Well, whilst Coady and Henderson are on either side of Merseyside as rivals on the domestic stage, the Wolves loanee was full of praise for his international teammate now they are donning the same colours.

“Talking about Hendo and how he leads by the examples he sets,” said Coady. “What he’s like in training. Driving people. I think he’s a massive factor in it and getting on with everybody in the group.”

HENDERSON TO START FOR ENGLAND V WALES

It wasn’t the best of performances from Henderson when he was unexpectedly brought on during England’s goalless draw against the USA.

In truth, it’s not too much of his fault, but Gareth Southgate’s because, at that moment, with the Three Lions needing a goal and some bit up front, a defensive-minded midfielder wasn’t the answer.

Either way, he will now get his chance from the get-go as England look to book their place in the knockout stages and boot Wales out of the tournament, as he told the Times.
