The Golden State Warriors ran into more trouble in their latest game, falling short against the Phoenix Suns.

Golden State is now on a three-game losing streak after dropping a tough one, 99-98, to Phoenix.

The Warriors have now fallen to ninth place in the Western Conference standings, sitting at 13-15 overall.

Turnovers proved to be the major hurdle for the Warriors in their one-point defeat to the Suns.

To turn things around, the Warriors will need to do a better job of holding onto the ball. That was not the case against the Suns, in which they gave it away 20 times and allowed Phoenix to convert those into 30 points.

Green, who led the team with five turnovers, did not seem too bothered when asked about it after the game. Instead, he leaned on his track record as a playmaker.

He stated: “I’m just going to throw the pass when I know it’s there instead of second-guessing. I’m a great f****** passer. … If I turn it over, I turn it over, but I’m a great passer.”

Despite backing himself as a playmaker, Green had just three assists against Phoenix and finished with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 0.6.

Draymond Green’s turnover problem this season

Green, who is still one of the team’s best defenders, has been given more playmaking responsibility this year.

Now 35 years old, he might not be at the same level as before. His numbers reflect that. He is averaging a career-high 3.3 turnovers per game.

Green is also averaging 5.4 assists per game, giving him an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.63 for the season.

Those are not terrible numbers, but they do not quite back up his claim to being an elite passer – especially when he brushes off questions after tough losses.
