Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Ramy Bensebaini from Borussia Monchengladbach as a replacement for Raphael Guerreiro, who is believed to be wanted by Leeds United.
According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga giants are close to agreeing to a deal to sign the 29-year-old fullback as Guerreiro looks set to leave Dortmund in 2023, with TeamTalk recently reporting that Leeds are interested in the Portuguese international as a pre-contract transfer.
Guerreiro’s contract with Dortmund finishes as the end of this season, meaning that clubs, such as Leeds, can enter talks with the versatile left-back to sign a pre-contract agreement, which will see the 28-year-old join Jesse Marsch’s side for free in the summer.
Recently lauded by the Portuguese media as ‘perfect’ in their 6-1 win against Switzerland in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Guerreiro has been one of Dortmund’s most consistent players over the years and a defender who many consider as one of the most underrated fullbacks in all of Europe.

And it appears that Leeds could now be the club to sign Guerreiro, with the Whites the only side in recent weeks to be linked with the French-born superstar as Dortmund seem to have now found a replacement for the former Lorient star in Bensebaini.
Indeed, Leeds signing Guerreiro would arguably be one of Marsch’s best pulls yet as manager of the Whites. Yet a lot of ground work still needs to be done ahead of a potential move in January, though Dortmund’s talks with Bensebaini are an encouraging sign.
Dortmund signing Bensebaini is exactly what Leeds needs to land Guerreiro

Dortmund are one of the most efficient clubs in Europe when it comes to signings, and the German giants seem to be doing just that with Guerreiro, with the Bundesliga side seemingly close to bringing in Bensebaini as a replacement.
And for Leeds, this is exactly the sort of boost Marsch will want in his own attempts to sign Guerreiro, with the Portuguese international likely more inclined to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Elland Road side with his Dortmund future seemingly sealed.
