Danny Murphy has said on Match of the Day on BBC One (10:59pm, February 12, 2021) that Manchester United-owned Everton midfielder Donny van de Beek was “tremendous” against Leeds United at Goodison Park.

The former Liverpool midfielder was impressed by the display produced by the midfielder, signed on loan from Manchester United in the January transfer window, in the 3-0 win for Everton against Leeds in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old Netherlands international midfielder was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park and had one of his best games in English football so far.

And BBC MOTD pundit Murphy was impressed.

Murphy said on Match of the Day on BBC One (10:59pm, February 12, 2021): “I have to say Van de Beek was tremendous. Sat in the middle there with Allan, kept things simple, kept things ticking.”

How did Donny van de Beek play for Everton v Leeds?

In our view, Van de Beek was one of the best players for Everton, as Frank Lampard’s side eased past Leeds in front of a buoyant Goodison Park faithful.

The Dutchman played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 89.5%, won three headers, took 51 touches, and made four tackles and one interception.

The 24-year-old did his job well in the middle of the park and flourished in Lampard’s system.

The signs are very positive for Van de Beek in regard to him being a success during his loan spell at Everton.
