Everton manager Frank Lampard has told BBC Sport that Donny van de Beek was “great” against Leeds United at Goodison Park.

Van de Beek, signed on loan from Manchester United in the January transfer window, was in action for Everton against Leeds at home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Lampard’s side won 3-0.

Everton boss Lampard told BBC Sport: “I thought Donny van de Beek was great. To play like that at home – his calmness, work rate and intelligence was great.”

Donny van de Beek was brilliant v Leeds

In our view, Van de Beek was brilliant for Everton in the Premier League game against Leeds.

The Netherlands international was arguably the best player on the pitch at Goodison Park.

The 24-year-old was brilliant from the start, worked hard in the middle of the park, was very active and mobile, and linked up well with his teammates.

Van de Beek played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 89.5%, won three headers, took 51 touches, and made four tackles and one interception.

The Dutchman really struggled at Manchester United and did not get enough chances to show what he could do.

Van de Beek is starting to show at Everton what he is capable of.

Lampard was a great midfielder during his playing time, and we are not surprised to see the former Chelsea boss getting Van de Beek to his high level.
