Don Hutchison has applauded Tottenham for the reportedly imminent signing of Ivan Perisic against Inter Milan. The veteran star is expected to agree a two-year deal with Tottenham, with his Inter deal ending in June.
Perisic, 33, has been a brilliant servant to Inter over the last seven years – clocking up 254 appearances. He has had a hand in 104 goals in that time, helping Inter win the Serie A title in 2020-21, and last season’s Italian Cup.

But with his contract coming to an end, Tottenham have swooped. Reports claim that a deal is done, and even Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that he has even put pen to paper on a move to Spurs, with a medical done.
With Perisic set to sign a deal until 2024, ex-Premier League star Hutchison – who works for BT Sport on Serie A football – gave his verdict. He believes Spurs are making an excellent signing, raving about the Croat’s work rate.
Don Hutchison applauds Tottenham for Ivan Perisic signing
Perisic is a wonderful addition, even despite his age. He is a winner, he is versatile and he is a player that Antonio Conte knows well. In fact, Conte ushered him out on loan to Bayern Munich – only to convert him in 20-21.
With Tottenham needing more experience in their side, Perisic is perfect. He gives Spurs the ideal Conte-type player, in a position that Spurs require strengthening. Hutchison mentions his fitness, and he is not wrong.
Perisic is renowned for his work rate and that is proven even further by his form in 21-22. He clocked up 49 appearances last season, having a hand in 19 goals throughout. A brilliant player, perfect for Tottenham under Conte.
