Tottenham are signing Ivan Perisic but there could still be another left wing back added this summer as Antonio Conte shapes his squad.
Tottenham secured a top-four finish on the final day of the season and now return to the Champions League.
That’s a huge achievement for Antonio Conte and he now wants to bring in quality additions to make Tottenham even more competitive.
Whilst big money will of course be spent this summer, it looks like Tottenham are bringing in two free transfers to start the summer.
Tottenham are signing Ivan Perisic
Goalkeeper Fraser Forster is arriving from Southampton and will be the new backup to Hugo Lloris moving forward.
The other signing is Perisic with the Croatian international expected to be confirmed as a Tottenham player very soon.
Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has admitted that Perisic is off to Tottenham and Inter have given up trying to keep him.
Perisic, 33, worked with Conte at Inter Milan and the pair can now reunite in North London.
Perisic is being viewed as a left wing back but he may still be able to make an impact in the front three having played on both flanks in his career.
What’s interesting is that the London Evening Standard claim that Tottenham could yet sign another left wing back.
It’s suggested that Tottenham still like Eintracht Frankfurt star Filip Kostic and may move for an additional left wing back whilst believing that Perisic can impact the game elsewhere.
That would be something of a surprise as Perisic seems primed to compete with Ryan Sessegnon at left wing back.
Yet with both Perisic and Kostic able to play further forward, Tottenham could end up signing both and utilising their versatility to great effect.
Kostic is set to enter the final year of his Frankfurt contract and Tottenham may sense a bargain addition.
It would still be a surprise to see Tottenham add another left wing back option but it may well be that they feel Kostic is just too good to turn down.
