Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly rivalling West Ham United for a number of targets this summer.

After two years of disastrous recruitment, West Ham United are under pressure to get it right in this summer’s transfer market.
It has been a tumultuous campaign at the London Stadium, with the club’s owners coming under fire for a perceived refusal to invest sufficiently in a squad that has massively underachieved in the last few months.
So Davids Gold and Sullivan should be a little concerned that the ambitious Premier League newcomers Wolves, backed by their billionaire Chinese owners, seem to have their eyes on a number of the same transfer targets.

West Ham have been linked with Jack Butland, Craig Dawson, Ryan Fredericks and Joe Allen; four signings that would vastly improve the spine of David Moyes’ starting XI while boasting the proven track-record that fans are hoping for after so many disappointing imports.
But the Express claims Wolves will offer £35 million for Stoke City shot-stopper Jack Butland; a bid that would most likely blow West Ham out of the water.
The Mirror says they are keen on Fulham’s flying right-back Fredericks, while the same paper has linked them with West Bromwich Albion’s versatile defender Dawson; one of the few bright lights in a dreadful season for the Baggies.

Finally, the Sun states that Wolves are willing to offer £20 million for Stoke midfielder Allen. West Ham, according to ESPN, saw a bid rejected in January and that £20 million fee would hit the Hammers’ owners harder than it would their Molineux counterparts.
Wolves may be a newly promoted team, but they seem to have funds and ambition West Ham cannot match under their current ownership regime.
