Celtic were linked with a move for Bristol City flyer Joe Bryan in the summer and the Scottish Champions would have loved his goal in the EFL Cup.

If you want to prove yourself as an attacking full-back, scoring three goals in your last four games is not a bad way to go about it.

Bristol City star Joe Bryan cannot stop scoring at the moment and Manchester United were the latest side on the wrong end of his ruthless finishing on Wednesday night. The left-back’s stunning long-range drive set The Robins on their way to a dramatic 2-1 win over Jose Mourinho’s side at Ashton Gate, sealing a place in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup to boot.

You can expect interest to surge in Bryan, then, with the January transfer window just a few days away.

But will his stunning cup heroics have caught the eye of Celtic again? According to The Mirror, Bryan was on Celtic’s radar in the summer and, with Kieran Tierney the only senior left-back in their squad, it is not possible to rule out the prospect of the Hoops renewing their interest in the New Year.

Bryan is everything Celtic could possibly want in a left-back and there is no reason to believe he can Tierney could not play in the same side either. The Bhoys’ number 63 has often featured in a back three of late, which would allow Bryan to raid forward from his favoured wing-back role.

Kieran Tierney of Celtic controls the ball during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Motherwell at Celtic Park on December 2, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The problem, however, is that Bryan’s stunning goal against United would have added a few pounds on to his already hefty price-tag, while also catching the attention of Premier League scouts.

But just how fearsome Celtic’s left wing would be with Bryan dovetailing with Tierney down the Parkhead flanks.
