Nottingham Forest have won just one Championship game so far and are reportedly in talks to sign Iranian international Ansarifard on a free transfer.

Claudio Yacob might be a proven Premier League midfielder who will add some much needed tenacity in the centre of the park at Nottingham Forest.
But that does not mean the City Ground faithful were jumping for joy when it emerged that he would become the club’s 16th summer signing, shortly after being released by West Bromwich Albion.
Forest, after all, already had a plethora of defensive midfielders, with Greek international Panagiotis Tachtsidis only arriving on Wednesday. So a number of Forest fans took to Twitter to ask why Aitor Karanka was bringing in another, particularly when the slow-starting side were more in need of a goal-scorer than a destroyer.
Forest have struggled for goals ever since Karanka took over at the start of 2018. In six Championship games this season, they have scored just eight times despite boasting some of the league’s most impressive creative talent.

So bringing in free agent Karim Ansarifard should earn the under-fire Karanka some credit. After all, the Iranian international scored 18 times in 27 games for Olympiakos last season and he seems like a player who could really make a difference, as opposed to the odd additions Yacob and Tachtsidis.
According to the Mail, Forest are in talks with Ansarifard but face problems obtaining a work permit. Yet, if they do, they will be bringing in a player who had a prolific goal-scoring record last season and this is what Forest need more than anything else right now.
