League One newcomers Sunderland are interested in signing Scunthorpe United winger Hakeeb Adelakun – but what about Glanford Park team-mate Morris?

Hakeen Adelakun ticks a lot of boxes for Sunderland.
So Scunthorpe winger Adelakun fits the bill perfectly. HITC sources have told us that Sunderland are keen to sign the 21-year-old, who tallied 14 assists as The Iron reached the League One semi-finals.

But why stop there? In Josh Morris, Scunthorpe boast one of the best goalscoring midfielders at League One level and, considering Sunderland’s only striking options are the young duo Josh Maja and Joel Asoro, they could do with more threatening options elsewhere on the pitch.
Morris scored 12 goals in 2017/18 and netted 20 the year before. And while he still has a year remaining on his contract, this is the sort of signing that could propel Sunderland to the top of League One.

With Donald claiming that Sunderland, who have been restricted to free agents and loans in the last two transfer windows, will have a budget plenty of Championship teams would be jealous of, Morris could be within their price range.
If Sunderland want to make their stay in League One a short one, signing two of the division’s most potent attackers would be a good tactic.
