Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly turned their attention towards signing Bruno Gaspar from Serie A.

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo celebrates winning the Sky Bet Championship match between Wolverhampton and Brentford at Molineux on January 2, 2018 in Wolverhampton, England.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to make a splash in this summer’s transfer market as they aim to prepare their squad for a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

And despite the excellent form of Matt Doherty in his new look right wing-back role in the last few months, it seems Wolves are keen to strengthen their options on the flank this summer.

The Mirror stated last week that the Championship winners are keen to sign Ryan Fredericks, the flying Fulham full-back who will be a free agent this summer unless he signs a new deal with the Craven Cottage club.

And Tuttomercatoweb are now reporting that another right-sided defender is on Wolves’ radar – Fiorentina’s Bruno Gaspar.

The 25-year-old joined La Viola last summer from Vitoria Guimaraes but struggled to make an impression in Serie A, starting just six matches with Vincent Laurini emerging as the club’s first choice right-back throughout the 2017/18 campaign.

And reports in Italy have suggested that the former Portugal youth ace could be on his way out of the Stadio Artemio Franchi with Olympiakos, who failed to win the Greek league for the first time in seven years this season, joining Wolves in tracking Bruno ahead of the summer transfer window.

Bruno would be another Portuguese player in an increasingly Iberian dressing room at Molineux, joining compatriots including Ruben Neves, Helder Costa and manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
