Should Tottenham Hotspur keep in mind the difficulties of Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou before attempting to sign Bruma?
If Tottenham Hotspur are serious about turning their long-reported interest in Galatasaray winger Bruma into something more serious, they may have to spend big.
Turkish Football reports that the 22-year-old, whose existing contract is due to expire in 18 months, will be offered an extension by his current club, complete with a release clause of £17 million.
And that is certainly a hefty wad of cash for a player who is only now beginning to add a few ounces of flesh to that ‘wonderkid’ skeleton. Seven goals and five assists in 18 league appearances is an impressive tally but in 2015/16, during a loan spell at Real Sociedad in a division more allied to the Premier League’s quality, Bruma scored or created just three.

He is, like many wingers his age, exciting yet erratic, the ability to fly past opponents often undermined by an aimless final ball.
Could Tottenham Hotspur rectify transfer blunder by clinching similar deal?
Therefore, Spurs fans could be forgiven for suffering a flash of déjà vu. After all, Clinton N’Jie (below) and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou are technically still Tottenham players even through the former is on loan at Marseille and the latter has been restricted to 36 minutes of Premier League action.

Although time is on their aforementioned duo’s side, they both stand as unmitigated flops at present, totally unprepared for the demands of the English league and signed on pure potential and expectation.
Should Tottenham Hotspur demand ace in return if European giants want expensive flop?
Maybe, then, Tottenham should think twice before they blow such a huge fee on a player who has starred in Turkey but produced little elsewhere.
