Blackburn Rovers were reportedly interested in Idrissa Sylla but he is still at Queens Park Rangers as things stand.

Two years after joining Queens Park Rangers for £1.5 million, Idrissa Sylla could be on his way out of Loftus Road.

The former Anderlecht striker scored an impressive 17 goals in just 27 Championship starts for the Londoners during his first two seasons at Loftus Road. But Sylla has struggled for game time since Steve McClaren replaced Ian Holloway at the helm, starting just one of five league games so far in 2018/19.

And West London Sport are now claiming that QPR are hoping to offload the Guinea international on the final day of the transfer window. Whether they will succeed, after trying and failing to sell him during previous windows, remains to be seen.

Sky Sports claimed a week ago that Blackburn Rovers had made an approach to sign the 27-year-old on loan. But that trail has grown cold in recent days and Tony Mowbray’s side have since signed Ben Brereton from Nottingham Forest.

Sylla has just one year left on his contract at QPR, so this is their last chance to recoup some of their £1.5 million investment.

He is not the only striker set to leave on deadline day with Connor Washington allegedly on his way out of Loftus Road, too.
