Championship leaders Leeds United and Scottish Premiership powerhouses Rangers both reportedly wanted former Dundee defender Steven Caulker.

Back in August, The Mirror claimed that both Leeds United and Rangers were preparing £1.5 million offers for Steven Caulker.
So they were both handed a perfect opportunity when the former England international suddenly cancelled his contract at Scottish Premiership strugglers Dundee just a few weeks later.
After a difficult spell on and off the pitch, 26-year-old Caulker had got his career back on track under Neil McCann at Dens Park, producing a number of commanding performances north of the border.
And, given that he has represented England, Tottenham, Liverpool and Southampton, Caulker could potentially have been a terrific signing for Leeds and Rangers, who would not have had to spend a single penny to bring him in.
Instead, however, it seems that Caulker is set to leave the British game behind. West London Sport claims that he is set to train with Arsenal Kiev ahead of what would be a shock move to Ukraine.

‘The Cannoneers’ won the Ukrainian second division last season but have struggled to make the step up, sitting bottom of the top flight after six defeats in eight games.
It remains to be seen, however, whether Leeds or Rangers will make any last-ditch attempts to keep Caulker in the UK.
